Removing and installing immobiliser control unit
General description:
The up! is equipped with a fourth-generation immobiliser with online link and download. The main component of the fourth generation immobiliser is a central database, in which all of the theft-relevant data from the participating control units is stored. Adapting the control units associated with the immobiliser is not possible without an online link to this database.
Online system test; All instructions and notes regarding this chapter are available under

A PIN request for the immobiliser components via fax or temporary access authorisation to the components is not available.
All components associated with the immobiliser must be adapted online.
All – including re-ordered – ignition keys are pre-coded to a specific vehicle in the factory and can only be adapted to this vehicle.
The relevant vehicle identification number must be specified when re-ordering ignition keys.
It is no longer possible to adapt components of other brands for use in Volkswagen vehicles.

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
