Removing and installing ignition/starter switchD — VW

🧭 Before you start

Fits: platform codes 601, 602, 612, 641, 642, 643, 604, 644, 614, 603

📋 Procedure

1. Disconnect battery .
2. Remove steering column switch .
3. Pull connector off ignition/starter switchD.
4. Remove anti-tamper paint from securing screws (A).
5. Loosen 2 securing screws (A) slightly and pull ignition/starter switchD out of steering lock housing in (direction of arrow).

6. ⚠ Steering lock will be damaged if improperly fitted!Failure to follow instructions will result in damage to the steering lock when the clamping bolts are tightened.Before inserting the ignition/starter switch in the steering lock housing, the ignition key must be turned to the "“Ignition ON”" position in the lock cylinder. — Turn ignition key in lock cylinder to "“Ignition ON”" position.
7. Push ignition/starter switch into steering lock housing to stop.
8. Tighten clamping bolts and seal with anti-tamper paint.
9. Push connector onto ignition/starter switch and push in primary locking element.
10. Install steering column switch .
