Removing and installing control unit for left gas discharge lamp J343 and/or control unit for right gas discharge lamp J344 (vehicles ▸ 09.00) — VW

🧭 Before you start

Fits: VW Passat B5 (3B)

📋 Procedure

1. ⚠ Observe procedure and safety notes for gas discharge bulbs — Disconnect battery .
2. Unclip plastic cover on control unit (arrow) and remove it.
3. Remove screw on control unit retainer (arrow).
4. Remove rubber cover over gas discharge lamp.
5. Release connector on the gas discharge lamp by turning it 90° to left and pull off.

6. Pull voltage supply connector off (arrow).
7. Take off control unit with ancillaries.
8. When doing this, route the high voltage cable as illustrated.
9. Check function of headlight after installation.
10. Carry out basic headlight setting vehicle diagnosis, testing and information systemVAS 5051A in "“guided fault finding”" mode.
11. Check headlight settings and adjust if necessary 36.
