  1. Insert seal into brake caliper.
  2. Fit protective cap (A) into assembly tool T10146/6(1).
  3. Use assembly tool T10146/6(1) and piston resetting appliance (2) to press protective cap onto brake caliper so that cap is fitted correctly all round.
  4. At this stage it should not be possible to remove protective cap from brake caliper by hand.
  5. Press piston lightly onto protective cap, and lock it in this position using e.g. removal wedge3409(2). [Note: Keep piston straight to prevent damage to sealing collar.]
  6. Blow out protective cap using compressed air (max 3 bar) (1). During this step protective cap will spring on piston.
  7. Using piston resetting appliance (1), press piston into brake caliper.

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
