🧭 Before you start
Fits: VW Passat B8 (3G, 2014–)
Don't miss
- Ensure electrical connector is pushed fully onto stop and engages audibly.
📋 Procedure
- ⚠ Observe safety instructions for pyrotechnic components .Observe disposal regulations for pyrotechnic components . — On "“Passat GTE vehicles”", disconnect maintenance connector for high-voltage systemTW.

- Loosen nut (1) several turns, and pull battery terminal clamp of positive cable, together with fuse holder ASA, off battery terminal.
- Pull out fuse holder ASA upwards.
- Release retaining spring (3), and swing cover (2) above fuse holder ASA upwards to open it (arrow).
- ⚠ Before handling pyrotechnical components (e.g. separating the electrical connector), the person handling them must "“electrically discharge”" himself. To do this e.g. briefly touch the door striker plate. — Unscrew nuts (2 and 3).
- Remove battery isolation igniter (4).
- To do this, release connector lock (5) using a small screwdriver, and pull off connector (1). [Note: Ensure electrical connector is pushed fully onto stop and engages audibly.]
- ⚠ Battery must be connected with ignition switched on. If pyrotechnic components (e.g. airbag, seat belt tensioners) are repaired incorrectly, undesired triggering may occur after the battery is connected. Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
