Fits: platform codes 5C7, 5C1

Don't miss

  • To ensure that gear wheel (2) of air recirculation flap control motor V113(1) can engage with gear wheel (3) of the fresh air / air recirculation flap, the short tooth (5) must align with the short tooth gap (4).

📋 Procedure

  1. Switch on ignition and wait until air recirculation flap control motor V113 has reached its end position in "“fresh air mode”" (recirculation mode not activated).
  2. Switch off ignition.
  3. Remove glove compartment General body repair, interior68.
  4. Unclip wiring harness from cover (1)(arrow b).
  5. Release locking mechanisms (2) of cover (1), pull out cover from guide (arrow a) and remove from heater and air conditioning unit (3).

  1. Pull air recirculation flap control motor V113(4) in (direction of arrow) off mountings on intake duct (2).
  2. Separate connector (1) from air recirculation flap control motor V113(4). [Note: The connection between the gears of the air recirculation flap control motor V113 and the fresh air / air recirculation flap is engineered so that removal of the control motor is easy only in the "“fresh air mode”" position. The inlet opening for recirculated air mode via the fresh air / recirculated air flap is closed. If the air recirculation flap control motor V113 is in a different position and can no longer be moved, the control motor cannot be pulled off with ease. Instead, apply force to first release it from the mounting points (2). Ensure that the gear wheels are not damaged when doing this.] [Note: As a replacement part, the air recirculation flap control motor V113 is supplied in the "“fresh air mode”" position. Only when gear wheel (1) is at limit stop (2) is it possible to engage it with the gear wheel of the fresh air / air recirculation flap. If a control motor is removed in a different position or actuated before it is removed, it cannot be installed. If gear wheel (1) of the air recirculation flap control motor V113 is not at limit stop (2) ("“fresh air mode”"), proceed as follows:]
  3. Connect control motor to wiring harness.
  4. Switch on ignition.
  5. Wait until gear wheel (A) of air recirculation flap control motor V113 has reached limit stop (B) ("“fresh air mode”").
  6. Switch off ignition.
  7. Reach into intake opening for recirculated air mode and move fresh air / air recirculation flap (3) to "“fresh air mode”" position (intake opening for recirculated air mode is closed).
  8. Fit air recirculation flap control motor V113(4) in opposite direction of arrow on mountings of intake duct (2). [Note: To ensure that gear wheel (2) of air recirculation flap control motor V113(1) can engage with gear wheel (3) of the fresh air / air recirculation flap, the short tooth (5) must align with the short tooth gap (4).]
  9. Connect wiring harness to air recirculation flap control motor V113.
  10. Insert cover (1) in guide (arrow a) and engage cover with heater and air conditioning unit (2).
  11. Clip wiring harness to cover (1)(arrow b). [Note: Following successful installation, a functional check must be carried out.The functional check must be performed before installing the glove compartment. Only in this way can the "“end positions”" of the control motor and those of the fresh air / air recirculation flap be checked. If the two gears are fitted together in the wrong position, it will be noticeable by the fact that the fresh air / air recirculation flap will not reach its two end positions or the control motor will not run without catching.]
  12. Install glove compartment General body repair, interior68

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
