Hydraulic unit, servo brake/ brake cylinder - assembly overview MK 20
The full brake cylinder and the servo brake can be independently replaced.
WARNING
Always replace self-locking nuts and bolts subject to angular torque
Brake servo
in vehicles with ABS/EDS ASR/ESP, another servo brake is installed
Chapter
on gasoline engines, the vacuum required is removed from the intake manifold.
on diesel engines, a vacuum pump is installed to create vacuum.
check the operation
Press the brake pedal several times until the end with the engine stopped (This eliminates any remaining vacuum inside the device)
Now, press the brake pedal with medium strength and switch the engine on. With the servo brake operating correctly, this may be felt when the operator's foot is on the brake pedal (active amplification).
in case of faults, replace completely

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
