If wear limit has been reached on a used clutch, the plates must be replaced and the thickness for a new pressure plate must be calculated.
Allocate plates and pressure plate according to gearbox code.
Functional check of clutch
Before installing a piston, moisten sealing lips and seals with ATF.
Sealing lip faces clutch housing
Turn piston slightly when installing.
When a piston is installed in a clutch or brake, it must be possible to move it by hand without friction in both direction

.
If this is not the case, the sealing lips or sealing rings may be catching or be damaged.
If this problem occurs, remove the piston again.
Check sealing lips and sealing rings for damage and renew as necessary.
Reinstall piston and check again.
Place shim between

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
