Preparing output shaft bearing race 2 for pressing in
First place
thrust piece
T 10428
onto press bed.
Insert shim and oil deflector.
Then carefully drive bearing race in with a drift until it no longer drops out.

Use
installing sleeve
VW 455
so that pressure will be applied to clutch housing in a controlled manner.
Pressing in output shaft bearing race 3
Insert oil deflector first.
There is 1 shim under bearing.
Driving out differential bearing race
Drive out bearing using a suitable drift.
The baffle plate is destroyed during removal and must be renewed.
WARNING
On gearboxes as of production date 06/2011 a constant plate with a thickness of 0.65 mm is installed between the baffle plate and the bearing race. If fitted, the constant plate must be installed at the same location before pressing in the bearing race.
Pressing in differential bearing race
Pulling out output shaft bearing race 1
There is 1 shim under bearing.
Preparing output shaft bearing race 1 for pressing in
First place
tube
VW 415 A
under bearing seat.
This illustration show view
»from below«
. This means press pressure is not applied to clutch housing in an uncontrolled manner, but is absorbed by tube.
Pressing in output shaft bearing race 1
Insert calculated shim if you already know its thickness.
Pull out output shaft bearing race 2 and 3
There is 1 shim under bearing.
Note
It may be that oil deflectors get in the way when internal puller is being put on. Carefully knock down guide plates with 1 hammer. Plates deformed in this way must be renewed during installation.

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.

Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
