17 steps

🧭 Before you start

Fits: VW Touareg I (7L, 2002–2010)

  • Special tools named: 3094

Don't miss

  • Start engine, close cut-off valve (position (1)) with engine idling and read off pressure. Do not leave cut-off valve closed for longer than 10 seconds.

📋 Procedure

  1. ⚠ The hose clamps, up to 25 mm Ø 3094 must not be secured in area of the non-return valve on the return supply hose. Otherwise, the non-return valve will be damaged. The non-return valve is located in the return supply hose between the bulges (arrows A) or between the clamps (arrows B). — Clamp off suction hose and return line at reservoir using hose clamps to 25 mm ∅3094.

[Note: To avoid damaging the pump, please note the following points:Cut-off valve of pressure gauge must not remain closed for more than 10 seconds during this test.Start engine without pressing accelerator and leave it running at idling speed.Take pump pressure reading at idling speed immediately after starting engine (have second mechanic take reading). The pressure will drop during the test; the highest pressure reading is therefore the required test value.]
  4. Now check delivery pressure.
  5. Start engine, close cut-off valve (position (1)) with engine idling and read off pressure. Do not leave cut-off valve closed for longer than 10 seconds.
  6. Switch off engine.
  7. Remove power steering testerV.A.G 1402.

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
