🧭 Before you start
Fits: platform codes 602, 604, 603
- Special tools named: VAS 6551/1
Don't miss
- The fuel pump is now actuated for 30 seconds.
📋 Procedure
- ⚠ Always read rules for cleanliness and instructions for working on fuel system .Always follow these rules for cleanliness and instructions before starting work and while working on the fuel system.Wrap a clean cloth around the connection before opening the fuel system, then carefully loosen the connection to release the pressure. — Pull fuel supply line (black or black marking) (4) off fuel delivery unit. Separate plug-in connectors .
- Collect escaping fuel with a cleaning cloth.
- Connect connection (A) of pressure testerVAS 6551 with line VAS 6551/1 to open end of fuel delivery unit.
- From connection (B), route hose adapterVAS 6551/2 into a ≥ 3-litre measuring container (3) and hold there.
- Switch on pressure testerVAS 6551 by pressing On/Off button.
- Open shut-off taps "“B”" + "“C”" of pressure testerVAS 6551.
- Switch ignition on.
- Connect vehicle diagnostic tester and carry out guided function "“Fuel pump activation (checking fuel pump)”". [Note: The fuel pump is now actuated for 30 seconds.]
- Carefully open shut-off tap (B) completely.
- Slowly close shut-off valve (B) while taking pressure reading shown on pressure testerVAS 6551. Set specification of 5 ± 0.2 bar by closing carefully.
- Drain measuring container.
- Therefore, also connect multimeterV.A.G 1526 to outputs (1 and 5) of test instrument/DSO adapter 5-pinVAS 5565.
- Carry out guided function "“Fuel pump activation (checking fuel pump)”".
- Compare the amount of fuel delivered with the read value from the table.

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
