📋 Procedure

Checking exhaust gas recirculation and air mass meter function via final control diagnosis
The exhaust gas recirculation and air mass meter functions can be checked with the aid of final control diagnosis and simultaneously calling-up measured value block 003. To do this the control element for
“exhaust gas recirculation valve -N18”
must be activated and then final control diagnosis exited by pressing key
“C”
. Using this procedure, the exhaust gas recirculation valve continues to be pulsed so that the extreme values for exhaust gas recirculation (air mass meter) can be read with the aid of measured value block 003 (display zone 3).
The individual control elements are activated for 30 seconds only. In the subsequent procedure you must make several entries within this period on the fault reader and must also read off the measured values. Therefore, read through the following steps first and familiarise yourself with the procedure.

The displays in display zones 3 and 4 must fluctuate within following control range:
Read measured value block 3 ->
840 rpm 272 mg/H 268 mg/H 54%
Engine code ACV:
Specification: Display zone 3, lower range 230...310 mg/stroke, upper range 360...480 mg/stroke
Specification: Display zone 4, lower range 2...5%, upper range 90...95%
The measured values which are displayed vary extensively due to the sluggishness of the fault reader display. Therefore, ensure only that the lowest numerical value in display zone 3 lies between 230 and 310 and the highest between 360 and 480, and the lowest numerical value in display zone 4 lies between 2 and 5 and the highest value between 90 and 95.
If the specifications are not attained:

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.

Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
