Bleeding the brake system is described using

Special point regarding vehicles with ABS/EDL, ABS/EDL/TCS and ABS/EDL/TCS/ESP
If a chamber in brake fluid reservoir is completely empty (e.g. brake system leaking), brake system must be pre-bled first

The hydraulic unit must then be bled again via function

Caution
Ensure that a filling pressure of 1 bar is not exceeded when filling brake fluid with

If the filling pressure exceeds 1 bar it cannot be guaranteed that the hydraulic unit is bled sufficiently.
Note
Bleeding brake system on vehicles with ABS is performed in the same way as on vehicles with a conventional brake system.
On non-ABS vehicles with a brake pressure regulator, move the regulator lever when bleeding rear brakes.
Only use new brake fluid
B 000 700 A.

Brake fluid is poisonous. Also due to its corrosive effect brake fluid must not come into contact with paintwork.
Brake fluid is hygroscopic, which means it absorbs moisture from the ambient air and should therefore always be stored in air-tight containers.
Rinse off spilled brake fluid using plenty of water.
Particular feature in right-hand drive vehicles:
When one chamber in the brake fluid reservoir is completely empty (e.g. leaks in brake system) or on replacement of the hydraulic unit, the brake master cylinder must subsequently be bled at the bleeder valves
