308 DV6C, DV6DTED — PEUGEOT

308 DV6C, DV6DTED on Peugeot: 89 steps, engines DV6C(9HC), DV6C(9HD), DV6C(9HR), DV6DTED(9HP). What to remove, in what order, and what to check after.

Refilling and resetting the particulate filter additive system on the Peugeot 308 with the 1.6 HDiF DV6C and DV6DTED engines, including the CC. Start by reading fault codes with the diagnostic tool and checking there are at least twenty litres in the fuel tank. On cars with adjustable suspension, select the highest position. The underbody cover and heat shield come off, the reinforcement brace is removed and the fuel tank supported and lowered a little to reach the additive tank and its filler pipe. A filling kit is connected with an overflow container below the car; with the engine idling, additive is fed in until it escapes through the overflow, then the valve is closed. What decides the result is collecting and measuring the escaping fluid, then entering the correct additive level and remaining distance when resetting the system.

🧭 Before you start

Read fault codes, raise the car and remove the underbody cover, then support and lower the fuel tank to reach the additive tank. Connect the filling and overflow containers, fill with the engine at idle until fluid escapes, close the valve and let the excess return. Measure the escaped fluid, reset the additive system with the correct level, reprogram the pump and refit everything.

Fits: platform codes 1.6, HDIF, |, -CC

Don't miss

  • Fuel tank must contain at least twenty litres.
  • Select the highest suspension position where fitted before raising the car.
  • Plug open additive lines; additive is hazardous.
  • Collect the overflow in a measuring container – the reset needs the actual quantity.
  • Reprogram the additive pump with a diagnostic tool after refilling.

  7. Stage 1:
  8. Raise the vehicle
  9. Remove the additive tank
  10. Disconnect the filler pipe
  11. Move the heat shield
  12. Disconnect the additive line
  13. Support the fuel tank
  14. Lower the fuel tank
  15. Note: Plug all open lines to prevent damage

Installation and checks

  1. Connect the overflow container pipe to the additive tank
  2. Position the overflow container underneath the vehicle
  3. Raise the filling container above the additive tank
  4. Engine running at idle speed
  5. Run the engine at idle speed
  6. Close the valve when fluid is escaping through the overflow pipe
  7. Open the valve until the remaining fluid returns to the filling container
  8. Disconnect the additive tank filling kit filler pipe from the additive tank filler pipe
  9. Reconnect the filler pipe
  10. Remove the filling and overflow container
  11. Collect the escaping fluid in a measuring container
  12. Refit the wheel
  13. Reset the additive system
  14. Refill the additive tank
  15. Refit all parts in the reverse order of removal
  16. Reprogram the additive pump

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
