Servicing wheel bearing housing with V.A.G 1459 B on Audi: factory workshop procedure. Full factory text, tools and checks.
Workshop procedure for AUDI — the factory write-up, straight from real workshop data.
📋 Procedure
Instead of workshop press V.A.G 1290 A, use can also be made of hydraulic removal and installation tool for wheel bearing and wheel hub V.A.G 1459 B with accessory V.A.G 1459 B /2.
Advantages:
Wheel bearing housing need not be completely dismantled
Track rod end is not detached from wheel bearing housing and wheel alignment is thus not necessary
Special tools and workshop equipment required
V.A.G 1383 A Engine/gearbox lifter with universal gearbox support V.A.G 1359/2
V.A.G 1389 A/1 Foot-operated pump with high-pressure hose
If hand pump V.A.G 1389/1 is already available in workshop, this can be converted to a foot-operated pump.
Make use of conversion kit V.A.G 1389/3 for this purpose.

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
