Replacing fog light bulb: Audi A2
Step-by-step replacing fog light bulb for the Audi A2: 8 steps. What to remove, in what order, and what to check after.
Changing a fog light bulb on the platform code listed below (8Z) is not done from the wheel arch: the factory procedure takes the fog light unit out of the bumper first, then opens it on the bench. The cover is turned anti-clockwise and lifted off, the connectors are pulled from the bulb, the wire clip is disengaged and the bulb comes out of the housing. The new bulb goes in without bare fingers on the glass, the spring clip is secured, the connectors go back and the cover is closed. The last step is the one that is skipped most and matters most: once the unit is back in the bumper, the fog light beam is adjusted, because a lamp that has been out of the car will not necessarily point where it did.
🧭 Before you start
The fog light is removed from the car as a unit. On the bench the cover comes off anti-clockwise, the connectors are unplugged, the wire clip released and the old bulb withdrawn. The new bulb is fitted by its base, clipped in, reconnected and covered, then the unit is refitted and the fog light is adjusted.
Fits: Audi A2 (8Z)
Don't miss
- Unit out first; the bulb is not changed with the fog light in the bumper.
- Do not touch the glass of the new bulb with bare hands.
- Wire clip must be re-engaged so the bulb sits properly in the housing.
- Adjust the fog light beam after refitting.
- Check the lamp lights before the bumper trim goes back, to avoid doing it twice.

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
