Removing and installing rear air distribution control motor 2V435 — AUDI

Removing and installing rear air distribution control motor 2V435 on Audi: 14 steps. What to remove, in what order, and what to check after.

Renewing the rear air distribution control motor 2V435 on the vehicles with the platform codes listed below (SF, SG). The motor sits on the distribution box in the roof, so the moulded headliner has to come down before two bolts release the motor and its driver. The fiddly part is synchronising the new motor with the flap: before fitting, the rear Climatronic operating unit and the motor are plugged into the harness, basic setting is started and only the airflow-to-window function selected so the motor drives to its stop. The flap shaft is then turned anti-clockwise to its stop and the motor bolted on without disturbing it. Get that wrong and the distribution will not match the selected setting.

14 steps

🧭 Before you start

Lower the headliner, remove the bolts and take the motor off the distribution box with its driver, transferring the driver to the new motor. Connect the operating unit and new motor to the harness, run basic setting and select airflow-to-window only, then switch off and disconnect. Turn the flap shaft anti-clockwise to its stop, bolt the motor on, reconnect, refit the headliner and run basic setting again.

Fits: platform codes SF, SG

Don't miss

  • Move the driver over to the new motor.
  • Bring the motor gear and flap axle into the installation position before assembly.
  • During basic setting, only the airflow-to-window function may be active.
  • Do not knock the flap actuator out of adjustment when bolting the motor on.
  • Run basic setting once more after the headliner is back in.

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
