- Detach bonnet lock cable at coupling unit and move clear at lock carrier .
- ⚠ Before working on pyrotechnic components (e.g. unplugging the electrical connector) the mechanic must discharge static electricity by briefly touching the door striker plate, or similar. — Unplug electrical connector (1) at crash sensor (3).
- To do so, pull out and press down connector locking element (2)(arrow) and unplug electrical connector (1) at crash sensor.
- Unplug electrical connector (1) at ambient temperature sensor G17(item 3).
- Move clear electrical wiring harness at lock carrier. [Note: Ignore (item 2).]
- Unscrew bolt (arrow) (left and right).
- Unscrew bolt (2) and detach horn with bracket.
- Have a second mechanic hold lock carrier in position and unscrew bolts (arrows).
- Detach lock carrier together with a second mechanic. [Note: Ignore (item 1).]
- If lock carrier is to be renewed, also remove the following components:
- Fill with coolant 19Cooling system/coolant; Draining and filling cooling system.

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
