📋 Procedure

  1. ⚠ The fuel system operates under high pressure. The pressure in the high-pressure part of the injection system must be reduced to a residual pressure prior to opening the system .A clean cloth must then be wrapped around the connection and the residual pressure dissipated by carefully loosening the connection. — R8 Coupé: Remove engine compartment trim panel on relevant side 53.
  2. R8 Spyder: Remove engine compartment trim panel (1)53.
  3. Unplug electrical connector (3) for fuel metering valve N290.
  4. Loosen union nuts for high-pressure pipe (1) and fuel supply line (2).
  5. Remove bolts (arrows) for high-pressure pump. [Note: Do not attempt to bend high-pressure pipes to a different shape.]

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
