Removing and installing headlights, headlights with H4 bulb — AUDI

🧭 Before you start

Fits: VW Transporter T5 (7H), VW Transporter T5 (7J), VW Transporter T6 (7E), VW Transporter T6 (7F)

Don't miss

• On vehicles as of 07.2009, the battery cover is discontinued.
• Mark installation position of shims (1).
• When fitting headlight in bracket, ensure side guide is seated correctly (arrow).
• If lower bracket was unbolted, it must also be aligned!

📋 Procedure

1. Switch off ignition and all electrical loads, and pull out ignition key.
2. Unscrew connections (arrows) and remove battery cover. [Note: On vehicles as of 07.2009, the battery cover is discontinued.]
3. Release and disconnect connector on headlight.
4. Detach front bumper cover General body repairs, exterior63Front bumper [Note: The bumper cover does not have to be removed completely. For the headlight in question, it is sufficient to remove the fastenings at the front and at the sides of the bumper cover. The bumper cover can then be press downwards carefully until the lower bolt securing the headlight can be reached.]
5. Mark installation position of shims (1).

6. Unscrew lower securing bolts (2).
7. Unscrew upper securing bolts (arrows).
8. Take headlight out forwards.
9. When fitting headlight in bracket, ensure side guide is seated correctly (arrow).
10. Screw in all bolts.
11. Align shims with markings made during removal.
12. Align headlight with wing.
13. Tighten all bolts to specified torques .
14. Check functions of headlight.
15. Checking and, if necessary, adjusting headlight setting . [Note: If lower bracket was unbolted, it must also be aligned!]
