📋 Procedure

  1. Remove intake hose from air filter housing to throttle valve module .
  2. Detach connector for Lambda probe G39 on cylinder head cover.
  3. Remove intake manifold .
  4. Then unscrew heat shield with intake manifold support from cylinder head.
  5. Unbolt coolant expansion tank from front end to improve access.

  1. Push coolant hoses aside and disconnect Lambda probe 2G108 connector on left on cylinder head.
  2. Raise vehicle.
  3. Unscrew heat shield (arrows).
  4. On underbody, detach connectors (arrows) for Lambda probes after catalytic converter and unclip lines from line retainers.
  5. Loosen double clamp at centre silencer , but leave double clamp pushed on.
  6. Now remove securing nuts from both flanges to front exhaust pipes.
  7. Slide double clamp forwards onto exhaust pipe.
  8. Then carefully remove exhaust pipe with catalytic converters. [Note: Do not overstretch resonator below flange.]
  9. Now remove exhaust manifold. [Note: When installing exhaust pipes, ensure that the flange connection before the catalytic converter and pipe clamp seal tightly. Leaks in this area cause pulsation in exhaust. This allows ambient air to reach the Lambda probe after the catalytic converter, thereby disturbing Lambda regulation.]

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
