Removing and installing electrical radiator fan V7 and radiator fan 2V177 — AUDI
Removing and installing electrical radiator fan V7 and radiator fan 2V177 on Audi: 12 steps, engines BKC, BXE.
Removing both electric radiator fans V7 and V177 on the Audi A3 (8P, 2003–2012) with BKC and BXE diesel engines means taking the radiator cowl out from below. The engine cover is lifted at the sides and pulled forwards, the air intake hose between lock carrier and air cleaner is removed and the air duct unscrewed from the lock carrier. The upper cowl bolts come out, the centre noise insulation and left air intake hose are removed, and connectors are unplugged before the lower bolts are undone and the cowl and fans are lowered out. The fans are then unbolted from the cowl. Renew the seal, and refit the air hoses so the plug-in connectors lock properly.
🧭 Before you start
Remove the engine cover, the upper air intake hose and the air duct at the lock carrier, then the upper cowl bolts. From below, remove the centre noise insulation and left intake hose, unplug the connectors and remove the lower bolts to lower the cowl. Unbolt the fans, then reinstall with a new seal and correctly locked plug-in air connections.
Fits: Audi A3 (8P, 2003–2012)

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
