Removing and installing coolant pipes (rear right): Audi R8 (CSPA, CSPB)

Step-by-step removing and installing coolant pipes (rear right) for the Audi R8 (CSPA/CSPB): 9 steps.

The rear right coolant pipes on cars with the CSPA and CSPB engines and the platform code listed below are reached through the right rear wheel arch from underneath. The rear right wheel comes off, the front and rear noise insulation are removed together with the reinforcement, and the front section of the rear right wheel housing liner is unfastened and pushed back. With a collector tank VAS 5014 or drip tray VAS 6208 below, bolts 1 and 2 are removed, the hoses are clamped with hose clamps for hoses up to 25 mm, the clips released and the pipes detached. It is a straightforward access job; the points that matter are catching all the coolant and refitting every hose with the correct original-type clip.

🧭 Before you start

Remove the rear right wheel, the noise insulation with its reinforcement and the front of the wheel housing liner. Put a collector tank or drip tray underneath, remove bolts 1 and 2, clamp the hoses and disconnect them, then detach the pipes. Refit the hoses with their clips, reinstall the liner, insulation and wheel, and fill with fresh coolant.

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
