• Timing position: the crankshaft or camshaft is set and locked during this job
• Special tools named: locking pin
• Renewed: o-ring

📋 Procedure

1. Remove noise insulation General body repairs, exterior66Noise insulation; Removing and installing noise insulation.
2. Remove toothed belt cover (top) .
3. Rotate crankshaft by turning bolt on crankshaft sprocket until camshaft sprocket is positioned at "“TDC”".
4. ⚠ Irreparable damage can be caused if the toothed belt slips.Turn crankshaft only in direction of engine rotation. — Lock camshaft hub with diesel injection pump locking pin3359; to do so, insert locking pin into fork on locating arm (2) and into hole (1) behind it in cylinder head.
5. Unplug electrical connector (2) at injector for cylinder 1.

6. Release plugs (1) on cylinder head cover by turning anti-clockwise and detach plugs.
7. Lock inlet camshaft with locking pin T10492; note the following:
8. Remove air cleaner housing .
9. Unplug electrical connector (2).
10. Unscrew bolts (1) and remove camshaft control valve 1N205.
11. Unscrew and pull out control valve (arrow). [Note: Renew O-ring after removal.]
12. Adaption must be performed after renewal or removal and installation; to do so, use , Guided Functions, 01 - Adaption elec. adjuster with checkback.
