📋 Procedure

ℹ️ Torque figures below come verbatim from workshop data — always cross-check against your vehicle's factory manual before final tightening.

General

Vane pump servicing work is not envisaged. In the event of complaints, perform pressure test and leak test to establish the cause. Replace vane pump if fault is found.

With the exception of extension of the hydraulic pipes from left to right at the steering box, the fluid circuit of RHD vehicles corresponds to that of the LHD version.

Always check steering system for leaks in the event of a lack of fluid in the reservoir.
If a leak is found in the area of the pipe connections, start by checking pipes/pipe connections for leaks, re-tighten if necessary and wipe dry.
Replacement pumps have no fluid fill. Prior to installation they are therefore to be filled with hydraulic fluid G 002 000 and cranked by hand to avoid the possibility of noise whilst driving or pump damage.

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
