As of 02.04 auxiliary heaters have been fitted on which the bolt of the atomiser unit (items
“3”
and
“4”
) is bonded into the shaft of the
combustion air blower
V6
(item
“8”
). It may then no longer be possible to slacken off this bolt. Replacement
combustion air blowers
V6
(item
“8”
) are therefore supplied pre-assembled with the appropriate components for the diesel or petrol version (items
“3”
to
“10”
)

Up to 01.04,
combustion air blowers
V6
were installed on which - particularly in the case of horizontally installed auxiliary heaters - residual fuel could penetrate into the motor by way of the shaft (thus impeding operation, resulting in insufficient combustion air being conveyed into the combustion chamber in auxiliary heating mode and causing the auxiliary heater to give off smoke). As of 01.04,
combustion air blowers
V6
have been installed with a modified seal at the shaft.

As of 02.04, a modified fuel pressure damper has been installed. If problems involving the development of fumes or smoke are encountered on vehicles manufactured up to 02.04 on switching to part load operation or in part load operation and if the auxiliary heater is not to be removed and the fuel pressure damper replaced, the problem can be remedied by using the
“Adaption”

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.

Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
