Checking operation of air recirculation flap control motor V113 — AUDI
Checking operation of air recirculation flap control motor V113 on Audi: 13 steps. What to remove, in what order, and what to check after.
Workshop procedure for AUDI — the exact step sequence and torque figures, straight from real workshop data.
🧭 Before you start
Fits: Audi A3 (8P, 2003–2012)
📋 Procedure
- If applicable, remove the glove compartment General body repairs, interior68.
- Switch on ignition.
- Set the switch for the fresh air blower V2(G) to speed "“3”".
- Move the rotary air distribution control (B) to the "“air distribution to dash panel vents”" position.
- Fresh-air/air recirculation button (F) not pressed (fresh air mode, lamp in button does not light)
- Press the fresh-air/air recirculation button (F) (air recirculation mode, lamp in button lights).
- Move the rotary air distribution control (B) to the position "“air distribution to windscreen”"(D). [Note: If operation is not OK, check the electronics in the air conditioning system control unit J301 and actuation of the air recirculation flap control motor V113.With the majority of country codes, the "“air recirculation”" function is automatically cancelled approx. 20 minutes after switching the ignition on again (it only remains permanently stored with the code for Japan). If the windows mist up after switching the ignition back on, air recirculation mode is to be deactivated manually.]
- Contamination of dust and pollen filter
- Forced air extraction from passenger compartment
- Ingress of water into passenger compartment
- Fresh-air intake from plenum chamber and plenum chamber water drain
- Seals between individual fresh-air intake components and vehicle for damage and leaks.
- Actuation of the air conditioner compressor regulating valve N280 and operation of the air conditioner (checking cooling output) [Note: Under certain operating conditions, residual moisture in the refrigerant circuit may lead to the formation of ice at N280 (and at the expansion valve). Such ice formation impedes air conditioner compressor control. The evaporator is excessively cooled and ices up. Icing-up of the evaporator may be the cause of the windows misting up.]

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
