33 steps 15 engine codes

🧭 Before you start

Fits: Audi A4 B9 (8W, 2015–)

  • Opens: fuel

Don't miss

  • Disregard (item 2).
  • Risk of fuel escaping.Cut-off valve (C) must be closed. The lever should point perpendicular to direction of flow. — Connect vehicle diagnostic tester.
  • From this point on, do not turn adjuster screw (1).
  • To find the precise cause of the fault, a pressure test must be performed on the fuel supply line as described below.
  • Risk of fuel escaping.Cut-off valve (C) must be closed. The lever should point perpendicular to direction of flow. — Press Start on vehicle diagnostic tester display to start the fuel pump.

📋 Procedure

  1. Observe test conditions (see the separate procedure).
  2. Open tank flap.
  3. Remove filler cap (arrow) for fuel filler neck.
  4. Remove engine cover panel Engine 10. Engine cover panel; Removing and installing engine cover panel.
  5. ⚠ Risk of injury - fuel system operates under high pressure. To reduce the pressure in the fuel system, wrap a clean cloth around the connection and carefully loosen the connection. — Disconnect fuel hose (1). Disconnecting plug-in connectors [Note: Disregard (item 2).]

  1. Connect pressure tester VAS 6550 to fuel supply line with hose VAS 6550/2.
  2. Attach pressure control valve VAS 6550/4 and hold end of hose into fuel-resistant measuring container.
  3. ⚠ The fuel system is pressurised. Risk of injury as fuel may spray out. Wear safety goggles. Wear protective gloves. Release pressure (wrap clean cloth around connection and open connection carefully). — Disconnect fuel hose (1). Disconnecting plug-in connectors [Note: Disregard (item 2).]
  4. Connect pressure tester VAS 6550 to fuel supply hose using hose VAS 6550/2.
  5. Attach pressure control valve VAS 6550/4 and hold end of hose into fuel-resistant measuring container.
  6. Switch on pressure tester VAS 6550(item 1) by pressing On/Off button. [Note: To measure the fuel delivery rate, pressure must first be built up in the fuel line; the fuel pump must then operate against this pressure during the measurement. This pressure can be built up using the pressure control valve VAS 6550/4 as follows:]
  7. Open cut-off valves (A and B).
  8. ⚠ Risk of fuel escaping. Cut-off valve (C) must be closed. The lever should point perpendicular to direction of flow. — Connect vehicle diagnostic tester.
  9. Switch on ignition.
  10. Select and start Self-diagnosis mode.
  11. Start basic setting without measured values: The fuel pump will start running.
  12. Build up pressure in fuel system by turning adjuster screw (1) on pressure control valve VAS 6550/4 until correct pressure is reached.
  13. From this point on, do not turn adjuster screw (1).
  14. Press Stop.
  15. Drain measuring container.
  16. For measurement, press Start again and let fuel pump run for 15 seconds.
  17. Press Stop after 15 seconds.
  18. Check amount of fuel delivered in measuring container. [Note: To find the precise cause of the fault, a pressure test must be performed on the fuel supply line as described below.]
  19. Switch on pressure tester VAS 6550(item 1) by pressing On/Off button.
  20. Open cut-off valves (A and B).
  21. ⚠ Risk of fuel escaping. Cut-off valve (C) must be closed. The lever should point perpendicular to direction of flow. — Press Start on vehicle diagnostic tester display to start the fuel pump.
  22. When fuel emerging is free of bubbles, close cut-off valve (B) to allow fuel pressure to build up.
  23. Read fuel pressure off pressure tester VAS 6550:
  24. Press Stop.
  25. Check system for leaks and check residual pressure by watching drop in pressure on pressure tester VAS 6550: [Note: Before removing the pressure tester (1), release the fuel pressure by opening the cut-off valves (B, C) and allowing fuel to drain off into a measuring container.]
  26. Detach pressure tester VAS 6550 together with connection leads.
  27. Connect fuel supply line, making sure it engages audibly.
  28. Press fuel supply line in again and then pull to check that plug-in connector is correctly engaged.

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.

Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
