Switch on ignition.
Switch on air conditioner.
LED must light
If LED does not light:
Pull adapter V.A.G 1598/11 off engine control unit position C.
If LED now lights:
Replace engine control unit => Page

Checking air-conditioner compressor shutoff
Notes:
On accelerating from a standstill/low vehicle speed, air-conditioner compressor is switched off for approx. 12 seconds by engine control unit. If accelerator pedal is released sooner, time decreases to min. 3 seconds.
Air-conditioner compressor is also shut off by engine control unit after starting function 04 "Basic setting".
Test requirements:
No faults stored in fault memory
Engine idling
Vehicle at ambient temperature (more than +15 °C)
Air conditioner OK

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
