🧭 Before you start
Fits: Audi TT Mk1 (8N)
Don't miss
- Connect vehicle diagnostic, testing and information systemVAS 5051 A and select vehicle system "“01 - Engine electronics”". The ignition must be switched on when doing so.
- The engine control unit converts the voltage values of the angle senders into a percentage referenced to 5 V and displays these percentage values (5 V supply voltage corresponds to 100 %).
- The value displayed in zone (3) must always be roughly twice that in display zone (4).
- (Item 1) and (Item 3) can be ignored.
- Connect 121-pin adapter cableV.A.G 1598/31 (test box) to wiring harness to engine control unit, but do not connect actual engine control unit .

📋 Procedure
- Connect vehicle diagnostic, testing and information systemVAS 5051 A and select vehicle system "“01 - Engine electronics”". The ignition must be switched on when doing so.
- From list (1), select diagnosis function "“08 - Reading measured value block”".
- Use keypad (2) to enter "“62”" for "“display group 062”" and confirm by touching Q key.
- Check displays in zones (3) and (4). [Note: The engine control unit converts the voltage values of the angle senders into a percentage referenced to 5 V and displays these percentage values (5 V supply voltage corresponds to 100 %).]
- Observe the response of the displays in zones (3) and (4) whilst slowly flooring the accelerator pedal. [Note: The value displayed in zone (3) must always be roughly twice that in display zone (4).]
- Terminate function "“08 - Reading measured value block”" by touching ← key.
- Check power supply and wiring of accelerator pedal position senders as described in the following.
- Remove driver's storage compartment General body repairs, interior68.
- Unplug connector (2) for accelerator pedal position sender. [Note: (Item 1) and (Item 3) can be ignored.]
- Switch on ignition.
- Connect up multimeter (voltage measuring range) as follows:
- Additionally check signal wires.
- Check wiring from engine control unit to accelerator pedal position senders.
- Connect 121-pin adapter cableV.A.G 1598/31 (test box) to wiring harness to engine control unit, but do not connect actual engine control unit .
- Check for open circuit and short to earth or positive in the following wiring:
- Repair wiring if necessary.
- Replace accelerator pedal position senders Fuel supply system, petrol engines20.

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
