Bleeding hydraulic system with brake filling and bleeding equipment — AUDI
Bleeding hydraulic system with brake filling and bleeding equipment on Audi: 17 steps, 1 torque figure.
Workshop procedure for AUDI — the exact step sequence and torque figures, straight from real workshop data.
🧭 Before you start
Fits: Audi A1 (8X, 2010–2018)
- Opens: brake fluid
- Special tools named: VAS 5234
Don't miss
- Fill up brake fluid reservoir to "“MAX”" mark (1).
- Use suitable bleeder hose. It must sit tightly on the bleeder screw so that no air can enter the brake system.
- To prevent brake fluid from overflowing from the reservoir, the brake fluid level must not be above the "“MAX”" mark (1).
- Zero compensation for brake pressure sender 1G201 must be performed after bleeding brake system .
🔩 Torque settings
Values can differ between engine variants — check the code stamped on your block.
| Torque | Fastener / step |
|---|---|
| 0.5 Nm (0.4 lb-ft) | Fill brake fluid reservoir up to "“MAX”" mark (depending on degree of pad wear) and screw… |
ℹ️ Always cross-check the exact figure against your vehicle's factory manual before final tightening — a wrong torque can damage the engine. These values are extracted from workshop data and may not cover every variant or revision.
📋 Procedure
- Fill up brake fluid reservoir to "“MAX”" mark (1).
- Connect brake filling and bleeding equipmentVAS 5234 with adapterVAS 5234/1.
- Screw adapter (1) onto brake fluid reservoir.
- Set correct pressure on VAS 5234operating instructions for VAS 5234.
- Detach protective cap (1) on bleeder screw at front left and front right brake calipers.
- Detach protective cap (1) on bleeder screw at rear left and rear right brake calipers. [Note: Use suitable bleeder hose. It must sit tightly on the bleeder screw so that no air can enter the brake system.]
- Fit bleeder hose of reservoir onto bleeder screw.
- With bleeder hose attached, leave bleeder screw open until the brake fluid which emerges is clear and free from bubbles.
- Press brake pedal 5 times to assist bleeding process.
- Tighten bleeder screw, detach bleeder hose and fit protective cap on bleeder screw.
- Repeat bleeding procedure in stated sequence at other brake calipers.
- Fit protective cap (1) at front left and right.
- Fit protective cap (1) at rear left and right.
- Fill brake fluid reservoir up to max. marking (depending on degree of pad wear) and screw on filler cap. [Note: To prevent brake fluid from overflowing from the reservoir, the brake fluid level must not be above the "“MAX”" mark (1).]
- Start engine and check brake pedal travel and brake pedal pressure.
- In the event of excessive pedal travel, check brake system for leaks and/or repeat bleeding procedure.
- Zero compensation for brake pressure sender 1G201 must be performed after bleeding brake system .

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
