ℹ️ Always cross-check the exact figure against your vehicle's factory manual before final tightening — a wrong torque can damage the engine. These values are extracted from workshop data and may not cover every variant or revision.

📋 Procedure

  1. Remove poly V-belt and tensioning element .
  2. Remove toothed belt .
  3. Remove crankshaft toothed belt pulley. To do this, lock toothed belt pulley using counterhold3415.
  4. To guide seal extractor, screw centre bolt into crankshaft to stop by hand.
  5. Screw inner part of oil seal extractor3203 two turns (approx. 3 mm) out of outer part and lock using knurled screw.

  1. Lubricate threaded head of oil seal extractor3203, place it in position and while exerting firm pressure, screw it into oil seal as far as possible.
  2. Loosen knurled screw and turn inner part against crankshaft until the oil seal is pulled out. [Note: Gradual introduction of PTFE seals (polytetrafluoroethylene). Identifying features: No annular spring, sealing lip is wider. The sealing lip of this oil seal must not be oiled or greased. An older design radial shaft seal (with coil spring) may be replaced by a PTFE seal, but not the other way around.]
  3. Remove oil residue from crankshaft journal using clean cloth.
  4. Lightly oil sealing lip of oil seal.
  5. Position guide sleeve from fitting sleeves2080 A onto crankshaft journal.
  6. Slide oil seal over guide sleeve onto crankshaft journal.
  7. Press in seal using fitting sleeve3265. To do this, use old centring bolt (1) for crankshaft belt pulley:
  8. Press in seal 2…3 mm.
  9. Fit guide sleeve T10053/1 onto crankshaft journal.
  10. Slide oil seal over guide sleeve onto crankshaft journal.
  11. Press in oil seal with fitting sleeve from assembly tool T10053 and bolt T10053/2 (M16 x 1.5 x 60) onto stop.
  12. Install crankshaft toothed belt pulley and lock with counterhold3415.
  13. Tighten new centre bolt to 90 Nm and turn 90° (1/4 turn) further (turning further can be done in several stages). [Note: Thread and shoulder must be free of oil and grease.] — 90 Nm (66 lb-ft)
  14. Install toothed belt and adjust valve timing .
  15. Install poly V-belt and tensioning element .

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
