Draining cooling system (vehicles with two heat exchangers) — VW

🧭 Before you start

Fits: VW Touareg II (7P, 2010–2018)

🔧 Engine codes this applies to

📋 Procedure

1. If cooling system is filled, drain coolant .
2. Close coolant expansion tank.
3. Remove front left wheel 44.
4. Remove front left wheel housing liner 66.
5. Open clips (A ... D) and pull off coolant hoses.

6. Extend the line (C) with a suitable hose (1) so that it ends in drip tray for workshop hoistVAS 6208.
7. Apply maximum air pressure of 1 bar in line (D) by means of pneumatic cartridge gun(2) until circuit is completely drained.
8. Fit dummy plugs (3) as shown and extend line (B) with a suitable hose (1) so that it ends in drip tray for workshop hoistVAS 6208.
9. Apply maximum air pressure of 1 bar in line (A) by means of pneumatic cartridge gun (2) until circuit is completely drained.
10. Re-attach coolant hoses and secure with clips.
