📋 Procedure
- Pull connector from transistorized ignition system with Hall sender switch unit N41.
- Connect hand-held multimeterV.A.G 1526C to connector contacts 2 and 4 using auxiliary measuring setV.A.G 1594C.
- Switch ignition on.
- Otherwise, locate and rectify open circuit according to .
- Switch off ignition.
- Re-connect connector to transistorized ignition system with Hall sender switch unit N41.
- Pull connector from Hall sender G40, (ignition distributorO).
- Connect hand-held multimeterV.A.G 1526C to terminals 1 (-) and 15 (+) of ignition coil 1 with output stageN using auxiliary measuring setV.A.G 1594C.
- Switch ignition on. Specified value: Min. 2 V, must decrease to 0 V after 1...2 seconds
- Renew transistorized ignition system with Hall sender switch unit N41 and check ignition coil 1 with output stageN to see whether casting compound has escaped; also renew if necessary.
- Briefly touch centre contact of Hall sender G40 contact to earth using auxiliary measuring setV.A.G 1594C. Voltage value must temporarily increase to min. 2 V.
- Switch off ignition.
- Connect hand-held multimeterV.A.G 1526C to outer contacts of connector using auxiliary measuring setV.A.G 1594C.
- Switch ignition on. [Note: If malfunction is present despite achieving specified values, transistorized ignition system with Hall sender switch unit N41 must be renewed, or open circuit between connector of Hall sender G40 and transistorized ignition system with Hall sender switch unit N41 must be determined and rectified.]

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
