Vectra C M32 Z22YH Gearbox — OPEL / VAUXHALL

Vectra C M32 Z22YH Gearbox on Opel / Vauxhall: 96 steps, engines Z22YH. What to remove, in what order, and what to check after.

Removing the M32 manual gearbox from the Opel/Vauxhall Vectra C 2.2 DGi 16V, engine code Z22YH. It comes out from below with the subframe off. The gearbox oil is drained, the clutch slave cylinder hose disconnected and plugged with a container under it, and the reversing light switch and gear-shift cable disconnected with neutral selected. With the front wheels off, the tie rods, stabiliser links and steering arm ball joints are separated, the power steering electrics and, on xenon cars, the headlight wiring disconnected, and the subframe supported and lowered. The left engine support, starter motor and rear mount come off, the gearbox goes on its support and the engine-to-gearbox bolts are removed. Shift adjustment is the step that decides the refit.

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
