350a1000 — FIAT
350a1000 on Fiat: 21 steps, engines 350A1000. What to remove, in what order, and what to check after.
On Fiat's 350A1000 1.4 8V engine, including the Natural Power versions, the ancillary drive belt and the separate power steering pump belt are renewed together from the right-hand wheel arch. With the vehicle raised and the front right wheel and wheel arch liner removed, the power steering belt is slackened at its bolts and adjustment bolt and taken off. The main ancillary belt sits on a spring tensioner; lower its tension with a wrench on the tensioner pulley and slip the belt off, then let the tensioner back slowly. Refitting is the reverse. The point that decides it is the power steering belt tension: it is set by hand at the adjustment bolt, checked, and corrected if needed before the bolt is finally tightened.
🧭 Before you start
Raise the vehicle, remove the front right wheel and the wheel arch liner. Loosen the bolts, nut and adjustment bolt to remove the power steering belt, then release the tensioner with a wrench to remove the ancillary belt. Refit the ancillary belt, then the power steering belt, tension it at the adjustment bolt, check and adjust, and tighten. Refit the wheel and lower the car.
Fits: platform codes 1.4, 8V, |, 77, NATURAL, POWER, (70/77)
Don't miss
- Release the tensioner slowly; do not let it snap back.
- Check the power steering belt tension and adjust if necessary before final tightening.
- Fit the ancillary drive belt before the power steering pump belt.
- Confirm both belts sit correctly in the pulley grooves, as general workshop practice.

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
