Removing and installing TV tuner R78 (from week 36/08 onwards) — AUDI

Fits: Audi A6 C6 (4F, 2004–2011)

🔩 Torque settings

Values can differ between engine variants — check the code stamped on your block.

ℹ️ Always cross-check the exact figure against your vehicle's factory manual before final tightening — a wrong torque can damage the engine. These values are extracted from workshop data and may not cover every variant or revision.

📋 Procedure

1. When renewing control unit, select "“Replacement”" function for appropriate control unit in "“Guided Fault Finding”".
2. Switch off all electrical equipment.
3. Remove ignition key.
4. Open left-side luggage compartment storage area.
5. Unplug connectors on digital sound package control unit J525.

6. Fit protective cap for cable connectorVAS 6223/9(1) onto MOST bus connector (2).
7. Unscrew nuts (1) and bolts (3) (3.5 Nm) at bracket (2) and lift bracket with digital sound package control unit J525(2) into luggage compartment. — 3.5 Nm (2.6 lb-ft)
8. Unplug connectors (1), (2) and (3) at TV tuner R78(4).
9. Fit protective cap for cable connectorVAS 6223/9(1) onto MOST bus connector (2).
10. Unscrew bolts (arrows) (2 Nm) at TV tuner R78(4). — 2 Nm (1.5 lb-ft)
11. Remove the TV tuner R78(4) from the rack (5).
