Removing and installing trim panel above glove compartment — AUDI

🧭 Before you start

Fits: Audi A8 D3 (4E, 2002–2010)

Don't miss

• If necessary, use a hook3438 to pull the air vent out of the opening.
• Take particular care when releasing the clip at the driver side end of the trim panel.
• When inserting the trim panel (1) with switch module, make sure the two fasteners in the centre of the panel are inserted between the dash panel and the monitor housing (arrows).

📋 Procedure

1. Switch off the ignition and remove the ignition key.
2. Turn the knurled wheel (3) of the left air vent above the glove compartment fully up.
3. Above the bottom slat (2), insert a jeweller's screwdriver (1) in each of the two air vent clips.
4. Alternately pull the left and right side of the air vent out of the installation opening, leaving the jeweller's screwdrivers in position. [Note: If necessary, use a hook3438 to pull the air vent out of the opening.]
5. Unplug the connector at the air vent.

6. Repeat the procedure at the right air vent above the glove compartment.
7. Open the coin tray.
8. Slide the trim for the coin tray to the left out of the fastener (arrow) and detach.
9. Open the glove compartment.
10. Starting from above the glove compartment, carefully separate the trim panel (1) with switch module from the dash panel using the removal wedge3409.
11. Detach the trim panel with switch module in (arrow direction). [Note: Take particular care when releasing the clip at the driver side end of the trim panel.]
12. Unplug the connector.
13. Remove the coin tray.
14. Screw out the bolts (arrows).
15. Detach the trim panel (1) above the glove compartment.
16. When inserting the trim panel (1) with switch module, make sure the two fasteners in the centre of the panel are inserted between the dash panel and the monitor housing (arrows).
