Removing and installing sill panel trim (front): Audi A6/A7 C7
Step-by-step removing and installing sill panel trim (front) for the Audi A6/A7 C7: 11 steps. What to remove, in what order, and what to check after.
The front sill panel trim covered here comes from several variants grouped under platform codes 4G and 4X, so the description stays general. It is the trim along the door opening at foot level, tucked under several neighbours: the side dash panel cover, the lower A-pillar trim cover, the lower B-pillar trim and, on the driver side, the dash cover and bonnet release lever. Once those are off, one bolt is removed and the sill trim is unclipped from the side member with a plastic removal wedge, starting at the rear and pulling it backwards. On refitting, it has to engage at the lever mounting and slide into the foot rest first, otherwise the clips will not line up.
🧭 Before you start
Remove the side dash panel cover, unclip the lower A-pillar trim cover, then remove the lower B-pillar trim and, on the driver side, the dash cover and bonnet lever. Undo the single bolt and unclip the sill trim from the rear forwards using removal wedge 3409, pulling it off rearwards. Refit by engaging it at the lever mounting and foot rest, inserting the guide into the floor covering, clipping it to the side member and folding the door seal lip over.
Fits: Audi A6/A7 C7 (4G, 2011–2018); platform code 4X
Don't miss

- Use a plastic removal wedge to avoid marking the trim and paint.

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
