🧭 Before you start
Fits: VW Transporter T5 (7H), VW Transporter T5 (7J), VW Transporter T6 (7E), VW Transporter T6 (7F)
Don't miss
- Spring clip (4) is destroyed during removal and must be renewed.
- Prior to installation, thread of sleeve (4) and stud must be cleaned.Use locking compound D 185 400 A2.
- Check airbag unit is seated securely.
- If airbag warning lamp K75 indicates a fault following installation, event memory must be read, deleted and then read again .
🔩 Torque settings
Values can differ between engine variants — check the code stamped on your block.
| Torque | Fastener / step |
|---|---|
| 2.5 Nm (1.8 lb-ft) | Secure clamping sleeve (3) with sleeve (4) on stud with torque specification |
ℹ️ Always cross-check the exact figure against your vehicle's factory manual before final tightening — a wrong torque can damage the engine. These values are extracted from workshop data and may not cover every variant or revision.
📋 Procedure
- ⚠ Observe safety measures when working with pyrotechnic components .Observe procedure for storage, transportation and disposal of airbag, belt tensioner and battery isolator units (pyrotechnic components) .Observe additional safety regulations for side airbag . — Remove trims for corresponding front seat cushion from front seat .

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
