Workshop procedure for AUDI — the exact step sequence and torque figures, straight from real workshop data.
🧭 Before you start
Fits: Audi A6/A7 C7 (4G, 2011–2018); platform code 4X
Don't miss
- Thread of new drive plate has been lubricated at factory with a pre-determined amount of a specific grease.
📋 Procedure
- Remove poly V-belt 13Cylinder block (pulley end); Removing and installing poly V-belt.
- Remove the cap (A).
- Use a commercially available 7 mm Allen key to support the drive shaft (B) of the air conditioner compressor.
- Turn the drive plate (C) with the pulley (E) in (arrow direction).
- Detach the drive plate. [Note: The torque for driving the air conditioner compressor is applied to the air conditioner compressor shaft by way of the thread securing the drive plate. If the drive plate has become so firmly attached to the air conditioner compressor shaft that it can no longer be released (the 7 mm hexagon flats can no longer transmit the necessary torque), the air conditioner compressor must be renewed.]
- Remove circlip (A).
- Detach pulley (B).
- Clean the air conditioner compressor drive shaft before fitting the pulley.
- Attach the pulley to the air conditioner compressor drive shaft.
- Insert circlip (A) in correct position.
- Clean thread of air conditioner compressor drive shaft before bolting on drive plate. [Note: Thread of new drive plate has been lubricated at factory with a pre-determined amount of a specific grease.]
- Insert the rubber elements (D) in the pulley (B) as shown and moisten with a small quantity of tyre assembly paste or soap solution for example to provide lubrication.
- Insert drive plate (C) in rubber elements until they make contact with air conditioner compressor drive shaft (B).
- Press the rubber element of the drive plate into the pulley (E) until the drive plate makes contact with the thread of the air conditioner compressor drive shaft.
- Whilst providing support with an Allen key, screw the drive plate with the pulley onto the air conditioner compressor drive shaft by turning (in the direction opposite to the arrow).

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
