Removing and installing power steering pump (vehicles with dynamic steering, 12-cylinder engine) — AUDI

📋 Procedure

1. Position vehicle on lifting platform .
2. Extract hydraulic fluid from power steering reservoir with used oil collection and extraction unitVAS 6622A.
3. Detach poly V-belt from power steering pump pulley 13Cylinder block (pulley end); Removing and installing poly V-belt.
4. Place used oil collection and extraction unitVAS 6622A under connection.
5. Release hose clip (arrow) and detach hydraulic hose.

6. Seal off open pipes and connections using clean plugs from engine bung setVAS 6122.
7. Slacken bolts (arrows) for power steering pump pulley using counterhold tool T10172 with pins T10172/1.
8. Remove coolant pipe (bottom left) 19Coolant pipes; Removing and installing coolant pipes.
9. Unplug electrical connector (2).
10. Detach screw connection (1) and loosen bolt (3).
11. Seal off open pipes and connections using clean plugs from engine bung setVAS 6122.
12. Remove bolts (arrows) and detach steering hydraulics pump V119(item 1) from below (remove hydraulic fluid line from steering hydraulics pump V119). [Note: The illustration shows the power steering pump for vehicles without dynamic steering; other versions are similar.]
13. Locate pressure line (1) on steering hydraulics pump V119, tighten bolt (3) and then tighten union nut on pressure line.
14. Plug in electrical connector (2). [Note: Before installing a new steering hydraulics pump V119, put in hydraulic fluid at the inlet and turn pump by hand until fluid comes out at the pressure outlet.Hose connections and suction hose must be free of oil and grease before fitting.Secure all hose connections with new hose clips Electronic parts catalogue.After renewing steering hydraulics pump V119, check alignment of poly V-belt pulleys 13Cylinder block (pulley end); Exploded view - poly V-belt drive.]
15. Install poly V-belt 13Cylinder block (pulley end); Removing and installing poly V-belt.
16. Bleed steering system .
17. Check steering system for leaks .
18. Clean off fluid in engine compartment where necessary.
