Removing and installing impact bar: Audi A4 B9

🧭 Before you start

Fits: Audi A4 B9 (8W, 2015–)

Don't miss

• If it is not possible to pull the bolts out:Mask headlight (1) with adhesive tape in area of wing (5).Remove bolts (2, 3, 4 and 6).

📋 Procedure

1. Remove bumper cover .
2. Remove headlight washer jet and set it down with fluid hose connected Electrical system92Headlight washer system; Removing and installing washer jets.
3. If fitted, press release tabs (arrows) and disconnect washer fluid hose (3) (place a drip tray underneath connection point).
4. Move fluid hose (4) clear. [Note: Ignore (item 1).]
5. ⚠ Risk of injury if airbag is triggered inadvertently.Observe safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components General body repairs, interior00Safety precautions; Safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. — Unplug electrical connector (2) at crash sensor for pedestrian protection.

6. Unplug electrical connector (1) at ambient temperature sensor G17(item 3) and move wiring harness clear. [Note: Ignore (item 2).]
7. Loosen bolts (A) in sequence 4 ... 1 and pull bolts out upwards. [Note: If it is not possible to pull the bolts out:Mask headlight (1) with adhesive tape in area of wing (5).Remove bolts (2, 3, 4 and 6).]
8. Remove bolt (1).
9. Detach impact bar (3) from mounting (2).
10. Remove horn brackets Electrical system90Horn; Exploded view - horn.
11. Remove bolts (arrows).
12. Remove bolts (1 and 4).
13. Pull lock carrier (3) forwards slightly, push mounting (2) for impact bar upwards out of guide (5)(arrow) and detach it to side.
14. Adjust spring element .
