Removing and installing high-pressure pump - vehicles with engine codes CASA and CASB — AUDI
Removing and installing high-pressure pump - vehicles with engine codes CASA and CASB on Audi: 10 steps, engines BUG, BUN, CASA, CASB.
Workshop procedure for AUDI — the exact step sequence and torque figures, straight from real workshop data.
🧭 Before you start
Fits: Audi Q7 (4L, 2005–2015)
- Timing position: the crankshaft or camshaft is set and locked during this job
- Renewed: seals
Don't miss
- Renew seals and gaskets.Fuel return line must not be kinked, damaged or clogged
📋 Procedure
- ⚠ Always read rules for cleanliness and instructions for working on fuel system Follow these instructions and rules for cleanliness before starting work and while working on the fuel system. Before fitting toothed belt, toothed belt sprocket for high-pressure pump must be locked in position using locking tool T40135. This is important to prevent oscillation of toothed belt. The high-pressure pump must first be filled with fuel before the engine is started. The high-pressure pump must not be allowed to run while still empty. First fuel filling (see the separate procedure). — Remove top section of intake manifold (see the separate procedure).
- Remove toothed belt for high-pressure pump (see the separate procedure).
- Unscrew bolts (arrows) and remove protective plate for high-pressure pipe.
- Unscrew union nuts (1 ... 4) and move high-pressure pipes clear.
- Unplug electrical connector (3).
- Remove fuel supply hose (1) and fuel return hose (2).
- Unscrew bolts (arrows) and detach high-pressure pump. [Note: Renew seals and gaskets. Fuel return line must not be kinked, damaged or clogged] [Note: Renew seals and gaskets. Fuel return lines must not be kinked, damaged or clogged. If toothed belt sprocket for high-pressure pump must be renewed, use puller T40064 to pull it off. Before fitting toothed belt, toothed belt sprocket (1) for high-pressure pump must be locked in position using locking tool T40135. This is important to prevent oscillation of toothed belt. Two TDC points must be aligned in order to correctly adjust toothed belt for high pressure pump.TDC of crankshaft (1)TDC of camshaft (arrow)]
- Install toothed belt for high-pressure pump (see the separate procedure).
- Install high-pressure pipes (see the separate procedure).
- Install intake manifold (top section) (see the separate procedure).

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
