Removing and installing gas discharge bulb L13/L14 - up to model year 2012 — AUDI

Fits: Audi Q5 (8R, 2008–2017); platform code 83

Don't miss

• Do not flash the headlights.
• Plug connector in again and insert new gas discharge bulb in housing; do not touch glass part of bulb with bare hands.

📋 Procedure

1. ⚠ High voltage! Danger to life!Ensure that any part of the gas discharge headlights marked with yellow high-voltage warning symbols are de-energised when you are working on them.Switch off ignition and all electrical equipment and remove ignition key.Do not flash the headlights. — Turn light switch to position "“0”".
2. Switch off ignition and all electrical equipment and remove ignition key.
3. Do not flash the headlights.
4. To remove fasteners (arrows), carefully press clamping pin (1) into fastener by dimension (x) until it engages audibly (arrow A).
5. Pull out released fastener (2) with clamping pin.

6. Lift lock carrier cover (3) and detach from radiator grille.
7. Right-side: Remove air cleaner housing 23Air cleaner; Removing and installing air cleaner housing or 24Air cleaner; Removing and installing air cleaner housing.
8. Release retaining clip (2)(arrow A).
9. Swivel housing cover (1) to the side (arrow B) and detach.
10. Remove bolts (2) and (4).
11. Slacken off bolt (3) three turns.
12. Press headlight housing (1) in direction of (arrow) towards front as far as stop.
13. Unplug electrical connector (1).
14. Turn retaining ring (2) in direction of (arrows) and remove gas discharge bulb (3) from housing.
15. Plug connector in again and insert new gas discharge bulb in housing; do not touch glass part of bulb with bare hands.
16. Secure gas discharge lamp with retaining ring.
17. Close housing cover and secure with retaining clip.
18. Right-side: Install air cleaner housing 23Air cleaner; Removing and installing air cleaner housing or 24Air cleaner; Removing and installing air cleaner housing.
