🧭 Before you start
Fits: Audi TT Mk2 (8J, 2006–2014)
Don't miss
- Make sure electrical connectors are fitted correctly (as far as stop) and engage audibly.
- If airbag warning lamp K75 indicates a fault following installation, you must interrogate, erase and then re-interrogate the fault memory .
📋 Procedure
- ⚠ Observe safety regulations for pyrotechnic components .Observe safety regulations for crash sensors (pressure sensors) for side airbag (front) .Risk of injury due to automatic engine start on vehicles with start/stop system. On vehicles with activated start/stop system (indicated by a message in the instrument cluster), the engine may start automatically on demand. Therefore it is important to ensure that the start/stop system is deactivated when performing repairs (switch the ignition off, and if required switch the ignition on again). — Open bonnet.
- Disconnect battery earth wire with ignition switched off Electrical system27Battery; Disconnecting and connecting battery.
- ⚠ Before handling pyrotechnic components (e.g. unplugging the electrical connector) the mechanic must discharge any static electricity. This can be done by briefly touching the door striker plate, or similar. — Unplug connector (2) at crash sensor (3) for front airbag.
- Unscrew bolts (1) (2x).
- Detach crash sensor (3) for front airbag.
- Unplug electrical connector (4) at corresponding crash sensor (2) for front airbag.
- Remove bolts (1) (2x) at corresponding crash sensor (2) for front airbag.
- Detach corresponding crash sensor (2) for front airbag from lock carrier (3). [Note: Make sure electrical connectors are fitted correctly (as far as stop) and engage audibly.]
- ⚠ Observe safety regulations for pyrotechnic components .Before handling pyrotechnic components (e.g. plugging in the electrical connector) the mechanic must discharge any static electricity. This can be done by briefly touching the door striker plate, or similar. — Switch on ignition.
- ⚠ The battery must be connected with the ignition switched on. If pyrotechnic components (e.g. airbag or belt tensioner) are inexpertly repaired, this may result in unwanted triggering after connecting the battery. There must not be anyone in the vehicle while you are connecting the battery. — Connect battery earth wire with ignition switched on Electrical system27Battery; Disconnecting and connecting battery. Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
