Removing and installing coolant pipe (rear left) - vehicles from model year 2014 onwards — AUDI

Removing and installing coolant pipe (rear left) - vehicles from model year 2014 onwards on Audi: 10 steps, engines CDSB, CTEC.

On the Audi A8 D4 (4H) from model year 2014, with engine codes CDSB or CTEC, the rear-left coolant pipe sits at the back of the engine under the plenum chamber partition panel. After draining the coolant and removing the partition panel, the wiring harness is moved clear and the toothed belt cover is unbolted for access. The pipe is then unbolted from the left-hand coolant pipe and freed from its hoses by releasing two clips and lifting a retaining clip. Space is tight, so the harness has to be pushed aside with care. A new O-ring, original-type hose clips and new coolant are what keep it dry afterwards.

10 steps 2 engine codes

🧭 Before you start

Drain the coolant and remove the plenum chamber partition panel. Move the harness clear, remove the toothed belt cover, unbolt the pipe from the left-hand coolant pipe, release the hose clips and the retaining clip and lift it out. Refit with a new O-ring and correct clips, reinstall the toothed belt cover and fill with new coolant.

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
