Removing and installing C-pillar trims — AUDI

Removing and installing C-pillar trims on Audi: 11 steps. What to remove, in what order, and what to check after.

C-pillar trims on the Audi models covered by the platform codes listed below come away in two pieces, lower and upper, with the seat belt threaded through the upper one. The rear backrest is folded down and the seat belt is detached below, then the lower trim is pulled from its mountings top and bottom. The upper trim is unclipped at its upper rear area and its connector is unclipped. Fitting is where care is needed: the belt is threaded back through the trim, the connector must latch, the trim goes on at the top with its two clips and the lower clips are engaged. The finished trim has to sit in the door seal beading and the belt has to run freely.

11 steps

🧭 Before you start

Fold the backrest down, detach the belt at the bottom and pull the lower trim out of its mountings. Unclip the upper trim at the top rear and release its connector. To refit, check the clips, thread the belt through the trim, latch the connector, fit the upper trim with its two clips, lift the belt through and engage the lower clips.

Fits: platform codes S1, 2H

  • Renewed: as necessary

Don't miss

  • Inspect the clips before installing and renew any that are damaged.
  • Thread the seat belt through the trim before clipping it in.
  • Push the connector into the upper trim until it latches.
  • The trim edge must sit inside the door seal beading.
  • Check the seat belt runs and retracts correctly after fitting.

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
