Removing and installing bonnet lock — AUDI

📋 Procedure

1. Remove bolts (1, 3).
2. Release catch (arrow) and detach cover (2).
3. Move clear coolant hose (2).
4. Release catches (arrows) and detach cowl (top section) (1).
5. Unscrew bolt (arrow) (left and right).

6. Unclip and detach cowl (bottom section) (1).
7. Release fastener (3) and slide cable support bracket (1) for Bowden cable for bonnet lock release downwards out of mounting (2).
8. Release fastener (4) and slide cable support bracket (5) for Bowden cable for arrester release downwards out of mounting.
9. Unplug electrical connector (2).
10. Move connector (3) clear.
11. Remove bolts (1).
12. Take out bonnet lock (4) until both cables are visible.
13. Press and hold bonnet arrester (3) in "“released”" position (arrow).
14. At the same time, guide cable nipple (5) out of operating lever (4).
15. Guide cable nipple (2) out of operating lever (1) for bonnet lock release.
16. Detach bonnet lock.
