  1. Remove bolts (arrows).
  2. Unplug electrical connector (1) at charge pressure sender G31/intake air temperature sender G42 and detach air pipe (right-side).
  3. Remove poly V-belt 13Cylinder block (pulley end); Removing and installing poly V-belt.
  4. On vehicles with air conditioner, unplug electrical connector (2) at air conditioner compressor regulating valve N280.
  5. ⚠ Risk of damage to air conditioner compressor and refrigerant lines/hoses.Take care to avoid straining, kinking or bending refrigerant lines/hoses. — Unscrew bolts (arrows) and detach air conditioner compressor (1) (with pipe/hose assembly still connected).
  6. Remove bolt (2).
  7. Swivel alternatorC forwards and unplug electrical connector (3).
  8. Pry off protective cap (2) and unscrew nut (1) for terminal 30/B+.
  9. Unscrew nut (4) and pull off clamp.
  10. Unscrew bolt (1) and take out alternatorC(3) downwards and to the right; on vehicles with air conditioner, it is necessary to move air conditioner compressor to the left (as seen in direction of travel). [Note: If the alternatorC sticks in the bracket, screw the bolts back in again down to the last 2 turns.Tap carefully on bolt heads with flat side of hammer to release bushes of alternator mountings.]
  11. To facilitate positioning of alternatorC, drive back bushes for bolts slightly. [Note: Stiff alternator mount bushes must be freed; otherwise the clamping force of the bush will not be adequate even when the bolts are tightened to the correct torque.Hose connections and air pipes/hoses must be free from oil and grease before fitting.Secure all hose connections with the correct type of hose clips (same as original equipment) Electronic parts catalogue.]
  12. Connect batteryA.
  13. Start engine and check that belt runs properly.

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.

Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
